On Thursday, May 12, 2011 Faith Ringgold was presented with a Celebrating Women Award and a Fabric of Life's Tapestry walking stick. She was recognized as a dynamic and visionary leader at the New York Hilton. The artist included pictures from Faith's books on the stick, A View From the Studio, Tar Beach, Cassie's Word Quilt and other books.
