Power to the Peaceful

I just had a birthday. I'm 56 now. On my birthday I visited a beautiful Children's Art Exhibit entitled, 'Power to the Peaceful: Peace Quilts from Around the World' curated by Prof. Rikki Asher. The exhibit will hang from December 15 - January 15th at Queens College -- Godwin-Ternbach Museum.

Dr. Rikki Asher -- Director of the QC Art Education Program Department of Secondary Education & Youth Services Division of Education
"What a pleasure that you could be here to see this beautiful quilt which was a gift to us from the children in a village in India, Anupshahar. Girls who normally would married by age 12 are now making quilts, getting a bank account, and having an education. The kids in the Bronx made a quilt also and they donated it to India. Next month when this exhibition comes down this quilt will be living in the South Bronx and the children will have had a nice experience getting to know each others’ culture through art."
